In Kilimani, police shot dead two suspected gangsters and found a pistol they had stolen from a lawyer in Kikuyu two weeks ago.
Kilimani OCPD Peter Kattam said the two had robbed a family at 10.30am and were escaping on a motorcycle.
However, they hit a lorry at Elgeyo Marakwet Road and shot twice at the driver, who escaped unhurt.
Police officers caught up with them and shot them dead.
Police said the two had also robbed another man in Kikuyu before attacking the family in Kilimani.
Mr Kattam also said the gang was behind a series of robberies in Dagoretti and Kilimani.
