Louis van Gaal launched into another bizarre rant after being questioned about Manchester United's move for Jose Mourinho.

The Dutchman, already frustrated at watching his side concede an injury time equaliser against Chelsea, lost his cool after being asked about the club's interest in Mourinho.

Van Gaal's tirade came on the day the Special One revealed his intention to return to management 'very soon'.

Sunday was not the first time in recent weeks that Van Gaal has been visibly irked by questions surrounding his future .

And in his latest rant, when asked about the recent links with Mourinho, the Dutchman said: 'You have spoken with Ed Woodward? Why do the club have to deny anything?

'Why do the club have to deny it when you are creating stories? Okay, so you haven't spoken to Ed Woodward or the Glazers? 'So you are inventing this story. I don't have to answer this question.'

Van Gaal, addressing a journalist in his post match press conference, continued with his rant saying: 'You are getting the sack tomorrow. What is your name?

'Then I can announce your name also. Then you look at your wife, or maybe you have children, or a nephew.'

Van Gaal insisted he was happy with his team's performance despite throwing away three points in injury time.

He wasn't, however, enamoured by referee Michael Oliver's performance, adding: ' When you whistle for the end of the match, then you have to whistle either on the sixth minute of added time and not let the Chelsea corner be taken.

'Or you have to let that event of the game go on. We were on a counter-attack, and then he whistles.

'He also did it in the first half. So, two calls were against Manchester United, I don't think it's fair.

'When you decide, as the referee, that after six minutes they can take the corner kick, then you have to let us take the counter-attack.'

On United's display, Van Gaal added: 'It's frustrating but it's not a big disappointment.

'Because I have to say that we played a very good match until the last quarter of the match, I think.

'So it is more frustrating that they scored in extra-time, it is a pity because we had the chance to score more goals. We controlled the game. I think it's not so easy to play here.

'But it is better than last year. We played better than Chelsea also last year, but they won 1-0. Now it is 1-1. So we improved.'

LOUIS VAN GAAL'S EXCHANGE WITH JOURNALIST ROB HARRIS

Harris: 'Although you dropped points, the performances are improving. Do you think that is important while the club are trying to replace you that you are put in the performances that show you might be value to the club?'

Van Gaal: 'You have spoken with Ed Woodward?'

Harris: 'Well the club aren't denying it.'

Van Gaal: 'Why do they have to deny? I don't interfere neither. Why do the club have to deny it when you are creating stories?'

Harris: 'I don't know if you know what I write.'

Van Gaal: 'OK, OK, so you haven't spoken to Ed Woodward or the Glazers, so you are inventing this story. I don't have to answer this question and I shall repeat myself every week. Now I have to say that you are getting the sack tomorrow. What is your name? Then I can announce the name also.'
